The Weather and Sea Conditions are very important....

If you’re going to hire kayaks, catamarans and paddleboards and rowboats along with other water based activities then the weather and seas conditions are very important

We know the weather plays a very important role when on the water and we always treat it with the utmost respect it deserves.

To help our planning for a day on the water we use a combination AccuWeather (the Russell land based hourly forecasting), the regularly updated Met Service Bay of Islands Recreational marine forecast and the tides for the Russell area.

Tides play an important part when considering a beach landing in the Bay of Islands. The distance between low and high tide can be as much as 20 metres.

Help or assistance for anything on the water around Russell is a call on the VHF Channel 63 (9am to 7pm) to Russell Radio. These guys update weather forecast every few hours and their friendly service and many years experience is just a call away.

Please always use your common sense when on the water. If the weather or sea conditions change then seek seek suitable shelter.
